About the firm

A small firm on purpose.

We started in 2016 with a rule we have not broken: the lawyer you meet is the lawyer who does the work.

Sui Generis Attorneys is a five-practice firm operating out of Lagos and Port Harcourt. We are deliberately small. Files are staffed thin and senior — no pyramid of associates learning on your matter, no partner who appears only at the closing dinner.

That structure shapes what we take on. We would rather run twelve matters properly than forty at arm's length, and we say no often enough that our clients notice when we say yes.

How we work
01

Senior hands only

The lawyer in the first meeting drafts the document. We do not delegate downward and re-review; we staff thin and stay close.

02

Fees you can predict

Fixed fees for defined work, published rates for everything else, and a written estimate before we start. No surprises at the end of a quarter.

03

We say no

If a matter sits outside our competence or the economics do not work for you, we will say so in the first conversation and point you somewhere better.
